What are the advantages and disadvantages of the internet as a means of communication?

In the last few years, the Internet has changed our life a lot. Thanks to it we can do a lot of things, for example: to have fun with some on-line games, to be in social networks (as “Facebook”) and even to buy from home. That last thing was unimaginable a few years ago. But it has changed especially our form of communication.

The Internet has turned into a way of communication and that is a fact. An advantage is that the news are transmitted faster than on TV or on radio. For example: a soccer team in Australia wins a match 5 to 0. I can know the final score a few minutes after the match finishes. Or also if, for example, there is a terrorist assault in Afghanistan, I can know everything about it a few minutes after it has happened. Another advantage is the availability of news: I can always know what happened some days, weeks or months ago. It is also good that the news on Internet do not disappear, you can find them whenever -well, that is not completely true-.

However, there are also disadvantages. One of them is that not all the news are trustworthy, so everybody can write what he or she wants on Internet. It is possible that many pieces of news are invented or not completely true.

All in all, I think that the Internet, in general, is something positive. The only disadvantage is that there may be false news, but the amount of untruth pieces of news is very small. Most of the information is true and ait usually coincides with the TV’s information or the radio’s information. Internet is the present and the future of the communication.
