What are the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet as a means of communications?

Nowadays the Internet is part of our lives and none of us could live without it. We use the Internet to do a lot of things, such as chatting with people all over the world or checking the forecast.

The best achievement of the Internet is to let us to chat with other people virtually. Some people say that it is impersonal, but it is the only way to communicate with someone that lives in another country for free. The Internet communicates people from all over the world, despite of the distance, so it can be considered a social phenomenon.

Using the Internet you have the option to post your photos, videos and thoughts with other users. It’s a good way to share the photos you took the last weekend with your friends, or chatting with them even they are not online, as happens with Facebook. It can also be dangerous if your personal information falls into the wrong person’s hands.

To sum up, the Internet is a good way of being in touch with people and sharing your multimedia files, but there’s always the possibility of being injured.
